To supervise essays

The purpose of the course Att handleda uppsatser (To supervise essays) is to support the participants in their professional development as university teachers with a focus on supervising essays. The course contribute to a deepening of their knowledge and skills acquired during previous higher education pedagogical training, as well as teaching experience. The course includes five scheduled meetings, in workshop and seminar form. Participants are expected to use both literature and other content that is presented in the course, and to relate it to their own disciplinawry practice. Prior to the last scheduled meeting, a completed paper must be submitted to both course leaders and course peers. These texts are then peer-reviewed within the course group and discussed at the last seminar.

Note! Being present at the first course meeting is mandatory in order to follow the course. This meeting can not be compensated for by makeup-tasks.

The course requires 2 weeks of full-time work.

Course description

Kursens syfte är att stödja kursdeltagarna i deras professionella utveckling som universitetslärare genom att bidra till en fördjupning av de kunskaper och färdigheter som förvärvats dels under tidigare högskolepedagogisk utbildning, dels under praktisk lärarverksamhet. Kursen omfattar fem schemalagda tillfällen, upplagda i workshop- och seminarieform. Deltagarna förväntas aktivt bearbeta såväl litteratur som övrigt innehåll som presenteras, och relatera detta till sitt eget ämnesområde. Inför det sista kurstillfället skall ett färdigt paper lämnas in till såväl kursledning som kurskamrater. Dessa texter kamratbedöms och ventileras vid det femte kurstillfället.

Observera att närvaro vid första kursträffen är obligatorisk. Detta tillfälle går inte att kompensera med extrauppgift eller genom närvaro online.

Kursen omfattar 2 veckors heltidsarbete.
