Inquiring into one’s own teaching/supervision practice and students’ learning
Workshop at AHU 24 September 2026
It is becoming increasingly common in Sweden and internationally for university teachers and supervisors to engage in what is known as the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), referred to in Swedish as akademiskt lärarskap. In short, this involves “an approach in which teachers continuously and systematically explore and develop their own pedagogical practice, reflect on its impact on students’ learning, and share their insights collegially” (Bolander Laksov & Scheja, 2020).
This workshop introduces the concept of SoTL/akademiskt lärarskap and explores what it can mean to engage in such an approach. If you, for instance, want to pursue an inquiry project related to your teaching/supervision practice, and/or if you want to follow up on something you have already done within a pedagogical course, this workshop is for you. For those who are interested, the option of a follow-up workshop will be offered later in the autumn of 2026, providing an opportunity to take further stock of ideas for participants’ own exploratory projects.
